About Youth Minister
Luke Ahn, pastor of youth ministry, has served in ministries as a youth pastor for many years. Luke received his seminary training (M.Div.) at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL. He met his wife, Makiko (Japanese), at the seminary as classmates. Their friendship grew closer through life challenges. Now, they have been married for almost 3 years, and are blessed with their irresistibly cute daughter, Mia (10 months), who is their pride and joy. Luke and Maki make a great team ministry. They share the vision for missions and passion for teaching.
Luke’s greatest joy in ministry is seeing God transform broken lives. He loves to connect with people to find out how they are doing and to support them spiritually as much as he can. He really enjoys having deep conversations with people about their passion in life. He loves trying to develop tools at church that will help people know God better – tools such as small groups, other ways to connect people to serve, and whatever training or activities the church can have.
Outside of ministry, he likes to “fix” things up. At home, he loves to fiddle with Mac and make his special cooking sauces. He enjoys making Buffalo wings and Chicago style deep-dish pizza. Starbucks is his favorite place to isolate himself for reading, drinking macchiato, and listening to his iPod.

3) Midweek Small Group
Midweek (temporarily on Wednesday evenings at 8:00pm) Small Group allows us to get to know one another on a personal level. It’s easy to feel lost on any given Sunday. The small group meets 3 times a month. On the last week of each month, we incorporate “fun” activities.
Here are some of the activities you can expect from a typical midweek small group: interactive small group/discussion, praying for one another, group games, sports, and snacks/food.
4) Discipleship (Student Leadership)
Growth happens when time and opportunities are given and sought out. But discipleship is not meant for everyone. In certain, discipleship is reserved for learners who are serious about lifelong teaching. It is the most practical way to grow in the relationship with a shepherd.
